Stone County celebrated in murals Portrayedthrough the arts, the history of Stone County can be found stretched across the county from the Dizzy Dean rest area to Blaylock Park in Wiggins to Perkinston Elementary and Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in Perkinston and the MeHenry Library in McHenry. A part of the Telling Trees Project, which is a project to research, document and celebrate Stone County through the arts, the murals tell the stories of a county that has a rich history of agriculture, change and people. Partners for the project include Foundation for the Mid South,Charles Stuart Mott Foundation, MS Gulf Coast Community College, MS Gulf Coast National Heritage Area, MS Forestry Commission, MS Arts Commission, MS Humanities Council, Land Trust for the MS Coastal Plains, American Red Cross Hurricane Recovery Program, Stone County Economic Development Partnership, MS Department of Environmental Quality, National Storytelling Network, Stone County Arts Council, Stone County Supervisors, City of Wiggins, Bodine Pottery, USDA Forest Service, Friends of Red Creek, Friends of Stone County Library, Family of Bill and Dolores Mauldin, MS Power Company, MS Coastal Plains RC&D Council, and citizens of Stone'County.
